Middle States Minute: Michael Galvin  Standard V — Educational Effectiveness Assessment   

Hudson Valley’s Middle States self-study is enriched by the contributions of students who provide their perspective and volunteer their time and abilities to this endeavor. Michael Galvin is a student member of the HVCC Middle States Reaccreditation team for Standard V–Educational Effectiveness Assessment.

Mike Galvin: Student Leader Extraordinaire

Mike is treasurer of the Student Senate, and is responsible for reactivating the Entrepreneur Club as well as its President. He is on the board of directors for the Personal Finance and Investment Club, and is an active member of Phi Theta Kappa’s Honors in Action Research Project. Galvin is also facilitating a service project in October organizing a book drive to give books to incarcerated individuals. He is passionate about combatting the stigma associated with addiction and incarceration.

Mike loves to read and has begun his long climb to become a 46er (Mount Marcy most recently!). He is pursuing degrees in finance and plans to own a real estate firm.

The Standard V working group is co-Chaired by Meg Mann and Mark Stephens. In addition to Michael Galvin, members are Michelle Bannoura, Colleen Ferris, Marcy Pendergast, Brian Vlieg, Andy Roberts, Toni Howard, Deb Shoemaker, Kelly Smith and Andrea Heroux.
